At the United Nation’s Girl Up Caribbeans Gender Justice Conference, Flame Bearers’ CEO & Founder, Jamie Mittelman shared about the importance of reframing the conversation around sports media. In this 45 minute conversation, Jamie shared about how the inequities in women’s sports coverage as well as the opportunities moving forward.
The annual conference on how we can approach achieving gender Justice will
bring together non-profit organizations, civil societies, activists and young leaders
from the Caribbean and across the world to discuss on transitional justice measures
to help combat sexual abuse and prevent future violations related to gender.
This conference is mainly focusing on gender mainstreaming, comprehensive sexual
education (CSE), human rights, sexual abuse and harmful practices such as early
forced child marriage and female genital mutilation.
