Kansas City Current Stadium Launch

The very first U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT) was honored at the Kansas City Current stadium launch at CPKC Stadium and Flame Bearers was on the ground capturing video and social media content for the team. Given that Flame Bearers has a longstanding relationship with the 1985 USWNT (Flame Bearers was the first to tell the stories of each and every player on the team), we were honored to support in person. Flame Bearers shadowed the team all weekend for the stadium inauguration, capturing on field and behind the scenes footage.

Yahoo! Op-Ed written by FIFA Player of the Century, Michelle Akers and Flame Bearers CEO, Jamie Mittelman here.  To quote, “As the first 17 players of the USWNT, we have a perspective shared by no other. To walk in those first footsteps and have a seat in history yet again with the opening of the first ever women’s soccer stadium, there is a lot to look forward to in this next chapter of women’s soccer.”

Members of the 1985 U.S. Women’s National Team were honored at halftime of the Current’s match against Portland.
