Flame Bearers was on the ground in Oklahoma City for the American Canoe Association’s Olympic Trials. The team interviewed athletes seeking to qualify for Paris including Evy Leibfart, Ria Sribar, Marcella Altman and Isabella Altman. Flame Bearers then participated in a fundraising gala, Champagne & Oysters, supporting local riversport athletes as they train to compete on the world stage. All proceeds benefited the OKC National High Performance Center athletes.
Over the course of the weekend, athletes competed in Canoe/Kayak Slalom and Kayak Cross, a new Olympic sport, featured paddlers launching side-by-side from a ramp into a whitewater course.
